The Role
Experienced Associates will be involved in all aspects of complex corporate restructuring transactions. Associates represent debtors and creditors in connection with chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings and other state law insolvency-based proceedings in a variety of industries. Negotiate and draft chapter 11 filings, term sheets and disclosure statements, plans of reorganization, settlements and asset purchase agreements. Prepare for contested hearings, including preparing witnesses for deposition and hearing testimony. Research and analyze legal issues with respect to chapter 11 and commercial law.
Requirements
Qualified candidates will have 2-5 years of legal experience handling bankruptcy matters. J.D. degree from an accredited law school is required and experience working at a Chambers-ranked bankruptcy department at a large law firm is preferred. Candidates with clerkship experience at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court are encouraged to apply.
