The Role
The Austin office offers clients a full range of legal services tailored to the needs of technology and growth companies at all stages of development, from start-up business ventures to large public companies. Since opening the office in 1999, the firm has built strong relationships with leading technology companies, entrepreneurs, and venture capital firms in Texas and throughout the region.
Requirements
Must have 3-5 years of experience in any one or more the following areas: venture financings; private equity; representing private companies in general corporate matters; and private company mergers and acquisitions. A background in life sciences would be helpful.
The Firm
Vault 35; 950 attorneys across 19 offices around the world. Vault #2 Emerging Companies and VC. The firm seeks candidates with an entrepreneurial spirit and an interest in technology and innovation, and laterals are assigned a partner mentor to support integration. 1,950 billable hour requirement, which can include unlimited pro bono hours and other non-client work. While many associates find this to be reasonable, especially appreciating the PTO program—where 40 hours of PTO count as billable time—others believe the work to be unevenly distributed, leading to burnout. Associates appreciate the level of responsibility they are afforded to work on substantive legal work for dynamic clients. Regarded as a technologically forward firm, Wilson the firm has stepped up its technological platforms to enhance remote work efficiency and is developing its own technology in-house to automate mundane tasks.Compensation is at market rates (i.e. base $215k-$415k).
